Gluten-free and Paleo


How you are feeling about yourself greatly affects your food choices, and how you are eating greatly affects how you feel. We are living in an over processed, over chemical-ized world where many of us are suffering from the effects of poor dietary and lifestyle choices. This is evident in our mood, our energy level, our joints, our skin and our body posture. We feel irritable, tired, bloated and suffer from headaches and/or stomach aches.

The unique programs offered will teach you the health benefits of food and the effect foods have on your body. You will be provided with the tools to prepare more nutritious meals for yourself and your family. The recipes recommended throughout the programs avoid using wheat, gluten and refined sugars, as they are some of the culprits that spike and drop sugar levels in the body and are also are common allergens in foods.

“Gluten-free” means a diet free of grains that are made with gluten, such as wheat, rye, and barley. Someone with a gluten-sensitivity or with celiac disease may experience bloating, abdominal cramping, constipation/diarrhea, headaches, aches and pains, tingling or numbness, dizziness, lack of energy, and/or fatigue. Eliminating foods with gluten allows the intestinal track to heal and inflammation to decrease, allowing your body to absorb the nutrients it needs and getting your body back into balance. It’s at this point you will start to feel better, lose weight and start to see the results you have been looking for.

“Paleo” means a diet based on foods we ate prior to agriculture of the land and animals. It is a diet high in protein and healthy fats, including lean meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, tree nuts and seeds, vegetables, roots, and fruits. The diet eliminates grains, dairy, beans/legumes, (white) potatoes, sugar and processed foods. The aim of a paleo diet is to return to a way of eating that is more like what early humans ate. It eliminates allergens and processed foods, allowing your body to “detox”. Therefore, enabling your body to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.
